Data obtained from the buoys are obtained using GSM telemetry, and are only partially processed to allow the rapid dissemination of data by being uploaded onto the website. The data must be viewed as provisional: quality may be affected by fouling from biological organisms and/or instrument malfunction and failure. Whilst every care has been taken to avoid including erroneous data, NO GUARANTEE of analytical quality is made and no "uncertainty of measurement" can be quoted. If you have queries or doubts about any of the data points it is recommended that you contact the moorings programme for confirmation or interpretation.
The data are reviewed and checked against other methods of measurement at a later date to ensure accuracy, and may be excluded if calibrations are found to have drifted. The data should be considered provisional until published after review.
Instruments measure environmental parameters (at 1 Hz) for 30 seconds every 20 minutes - plotted points on the dymamic charts are 1-hour means.
